Why did you choose to study on the Sunshine Coast?
I choose to study on the Sunshine Coast because it’s such a beautiful place. Having spent virtually my entire life here, it would be absurd to study anywhere else.
What do you love about studying on the Sunshine Coast?
I love the positive vibes the Sunshine Coast brings! Everyone here is so lovely and I love surrounding myself with people who aspire to be something in life. The facilities the university offers are also so incredible and I am humbled to be able to study here.
What do you love most about your educational institution?
The University of the Sunshine Coast prides itself on the state of the art technology it can provide for the students at the Sunshine Coast. The facilities it offers allows students from an array of different degrees to be able to further their skills by equipping them with the newest technology. Students in nursing are given simulation rooms with offer 360 views for spectators to allow for improved training, as well as an array of other facilities used to help people from a variety of degrees. I also love the wildlife at the university and have fallen in love with the ducklings and kangaroos.
Name your favourite spot to visit on the Sunshine Coast and why?
My favourite spot on the Sunshine Coast would have to be Maroochy River. I like this place because it is so different from other spots on the Sunshine Coast. As someone who is constantly doing things, I never really have time to have ‘me time’, so I like to take my kayak out to the river, paddle out and just float around and see where it takes me. A calming activity to do on a day off and it just calms the soul.
Do you have any advice to other students thinking of studying on the Sunshine Coast?
My advice to students thinking about studying on the Sunshine Coast is just to just do it. The Sunshine Coast seems to be constantly ignored when people consider study options, but if you take the opportunity, you will not regret it. Where you study is not important, it is what you make of yourself whilst you study that is important.
What do you want to do when you complete your study (career aspirations)?
I have so many career aspirations, but two have really stuck with me. I want to work in paediatrics since I’ve always enjoyed working with children, and would love to provide care for those in need. I also want to work as an oncology nurse as that field is something I am very passionate about. Ideally, I would like to work in an area that can combine both those fields together.
If you could be one Australian animal what would it be and why?
I feel like I would probably be a Koala. They seem to be such chilled out animals, they also love cuddles and eating (which basically describes me).
Do you have a favourite saying / phrase that motivates you to study / succeed in life?
“It does not matter how slowly you go, as long as you do not stop”,
Why did you choose to become a Study Sunshine Coast Student Ambassador?
I choose to become a Sunshine Coast Study Ambassador because I want to be able to show everyone the beauties of not only living on the Sunshine coast, but also studying here. I’ve found the people to be so warming, nice and beautiful, so I want to be able to share that experience with everyone. I also love meeting new people, networking and being able to do fun things with people who have the same passion for this beautiful place. Being an ambassador opens the door to so many opportunities for me and that also really excites me.
