Situated in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, Nambour Special School delivers quality education for students with a range of disabilities in a supportive environment. The school is divided into four cohorts -Junior Primary (Prep – Yr 2), Senior Primary (Yr 3 – 6), Junior Secondary (Yr 7 – 10) and STEP (Yr 11-12). Class groupings are generated with consideration to age, educational and social needs. The Australian Curriculum forms the basis of Nambour Special School’s Curriculum Framework. Information and Communication Technologies are embedded in all learning areas, which include laptops, tablet devices, augmentative communication systems, picture exchange systems, Makaton, PODDS and personal electronic communication devices.
