Meet Lisa from Japan!

Lisa is an international student from Japan in my final year of a Bachelor of Outdoor Recreation and Environmental Studies at the University of the Sunshine Coast. She love surfing, outdoor activities, and immersing myself in different cultures while traveling, connecting with people, and learning about their way of life. She is also passionate about waste management in small Pacific Island nations, outdoor environmental education/activities, and sustainable tourism, exploring how people can travel in a way that positively impacts the local economy and culture and minimises environmental harm while creating meaningful and memorable experiences for themselves.

  • Why did I join the ambassador Program?

I’m really excited to meet students from all over the world, make new friends, and join networking events to connect with top professionals in the industry, build connections, and explore new opportunities! I’m also looking forward to sharing how beautiful the Sunshine Coast is and inspiring students who are thinking about studying here. I hope to encourage them to come and enjoy a fun, fulfilling academic and personal journey on the Sunshine Coast!

  • Why do I love the Sunshine Coast and recommend the Sunshine Coast as a study destination and holiday destination to my family and friends?

Sunshine Coast is the perfect place to both pursue your academic goals and enjoy a fulfilling personal life. From my experiences, I have gained so much knowledge, experience, and confidence in the field of outdoor recreation, both from the courses at university and from the variety of hands-on experiences through job opportunities and real-world applications. Additionally, Sunshine Coast offers a wide range of activities in the natural environment, so you’ll never get bored! Build the strong connection to the nature and appropriate more than ever you have before.
