Coping with COVID-19: Staying focused when anxious

The COVID-19 crisis has affected the world we live in and love and for students this is no exception. In the first episode of the Coping with COVID-19 video series, we look at coping strategies and resources for Sunshine Coast students during this challenging time.  The video includes tips and information on how to cope with anxiety and keep you safe.

Free Student Support Services:

A new FREE Student Support Hub was launched online on April 20th for all Queensland students. By registering on this hub you can speak with Student Support Officers (translators available) and book virtual appointments to discuss any needs or worries you have. You can access the hub here.

The student study hotline is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This free service supports students, agents, chaperones, parents and homestay providers and is accessed at: 1800QSTUDY (1800 778 839)

Lifeline is a national charity providing anyone experiencing a personal crisis with access to 24 hour crisis support and suicide prevention services. This is a confidential call on: 13 11 14 or you can access their services online at www.lifeline.org.au. They also have a new text messaging services if you aren’t comfortable to call them, available from 6pm to 12am, 7 days a week by texting 0477 13 11 14.

Free Food Services:

The Sunshine Coast has amazing food charity organisations that operate throughout the week to provide free meals and discounted or free pantry items to any community members in need. To view a schedule of what services are available on which days, and where to find them, simply click here.
