Episode 2: Free Food Services for Sunshine Coast students video

Study Sunshine Coast has been working with local education institutions to provide much needed food services to students in need during the COVID-19 Crisis. The next episode of the Coping with COVID-19 video series showcases the free food services available to Sunshine Coast students and how they can immediately access these.

Many thanks to OzHarvest Sunshine Coast, Urban Angels Community Kitchen, Study Brisbane, Fareshare and Foodbank Queensland who have been instrumental in organising, supplying the produce and cooking the meals to make this free food service initiative happen.

Food Services Available Through Your Institution:

The following institutions all have FREE weekly food services set-up especially for their students.

  • Free ready meals
  • Free pantry items
  • Free fresh produce – fruit and vegetables

You can access this free food services every week and this does not impact your study or your visa record.

Free Student Support Services:

A new FREE Online Student Support Hub is available for all Queensland students. By registering on this hub you can speak with Student Support Officers (translators available) and book virtual appointments to discuss any needs or worries you have. You can access the hub at: https://www.studyqueensland.qld.gov.au/Live/Student-Support

If you book an appointment with the Hub they can chat with you about any help you need and provide vouchers for groceries and to pay bills, and this not does impact on your study or visa.

The student study hotline is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This free service supports students, agents, chaperones, parents and homestay providers and is accessed at: 1800QSTUDY (1800 778 839)
