More than 1400 five-star reviews have helped catapult the Sunshine Coast’s Mooloolaba Beach into the Top 10 beaches in the South Pacific according to the 2022 Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards.
Mooloolaba came in 7th place in the coveted awards, which are based on real traveller reviews.
The award is just the latest in a string of positive accolades for Mooloolaba, with the beach previously taking out fourth best beach in Australia in the 2019 Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards.
Reviews on Tripadvisor for Mooloolaba Beach are enough to make anyone want to throw down a towel on the soft white sand, with the beach’s sheltered, crystal-clear waters, beachside boardwalk, and proximity to shops and restaurants just some of the things people love about the destination.
Tripadvisor user TheSydneyDoll went so far as to say: “Soft white sand and beautiful refreshing water, I am pretty confident that this is one of the best beaches in Australia”.
Another review from Huibre N read: “Lovely walk ways, soft green lawns, benches to sit on, play area for the kids, safe beach with friendly life guards and flags, beach club with amazing views”.
The positive sentiment extended beyond the surf and sand, with travellers praising Mooloolaba’s accommodation, shops and dining scene.
“Best views and facilities! Close to all the great shops and restaurants on the strip. Accommodation choices are simply amazing. Friendly people as well,” Tripadvisor user Steve said.
Another review from Saloni6165 wrote: “Awesome ambience -love the waves and awesome cafes and food options with great choice of hotels.”
Visit Sunshine Coast CEO Matt Stoeckel congratulated Mooloolaba on the incredible accolade.
“To go from being one of the best beaches in Australia to one of the best beaches in the South Pacific is simply incredible,” Mr Stoeckel said.
“And with the Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards based on real traveller feedback, there really is no greater recognition.”
