The Queensland Government launches the Luhrmann Appeal

The Queensland Government has teamed up with Lilly Luhrmann, daughter of film legend Baz, to raise money for international students. Study Queensland has launched the Luhrmann Appeal to help our struggling international students impacted by the coronavirus. Many have lost their jobs and have access to little funding or support. Lilly was motivated to help after reading about their plight. Thanks GIVIT.org.au for also being part of this special appeal.

This comes following a $15m investment in supporting students from Queensland Government to provide grants, counselling, meals and workshops for students living in Queensland. There are about 20,000 students here who will experience hardship. Study Queensland also thanks Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk and Kate Jones MP Premier for the ongoing support. Laptops, money, food and internet vouchers, toiletries and phone credit are some of the things our students need. People can donate goods for international students here.

Sunshine Coast students in need are need are encouraged to access the Study Queensland Free Student Support Hub. More information here.
