UniSC sustainability credentials recognised

The University of the Sunshine Coast are in the finals! UniSC is extremely pleased to have their sustainability credentials recognised through the 2022 Green Gown Awards Australasia, delivered via Australasian Campuses Towards Sustainability (ACTS).

UniSC have been named finalists in two categories:

Benefitting Society – for our partnership-based approach to deliver the Alliance for Suicide Prevention, which addresses the Sunshine Coast’s unacceptably high suicide rate.

Powerful Partnerships – for our work with our friends at the Butchulla Aboriginal Corporation and Sealink’s Kingfisher Bay Resort (KBR) to create the K’gari World Heritage Discovery Centre, which provides visitors with an understanding of the island’s World Heritage value and why the island should be protected.

UniSC are very pleased to add these feathers to our cap, building on the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings, which rated us as Queensland’s premier university when it comes to Clean Water and Sanitation, Responsible Consumption and Production, Climate Action, Life on Land and Partnerships for the Goals.

Great recognition for Sustainability Week!
