A number of Sunshine Coast schools have entered the 2022 Mayor’s Telstra Innovation Awards (MTIA). With entries closing this week for the innovation and design competition, MTIA organisers were absolutely thrilled with the number and quality of entries and congratulate all the schools who have put time and effort into the phase 1 application process. The Mayor’s Telstra Innovation Awards helps bring creative ideas to life for students in Years’ 9, 10, 11 and 12 at high schools within the Sunshine Coast Council Local Government Area. It connects students with industry mentors to develop enterprise skills and entrepreneurial thinking and runs from February to July 2022.
Phase 1 Judging is scheduled for Friday 6th May where finalist teams will be shortlisted to progress in the awards program commencing with four mentor workshops being held from May to early June. As well as the finalist teams being announced next Friday, team mentors will also be announced in the coming week in preparation for the first Mentor workshop on Thursday 12th May from 4pm to 6pm at Venue 114.
